Woomera Throwing

Fit the notched end of the spear onto the hook of the woomera, holding both together in the throwing hand.

Draw the woomera back with the spear balanced along it, using the throwing arm as a lever.

Snap the woomera forward and release the spear near the top of the swing so its extra leverage adds speed and distance.

For a distance contest, mark where each throw lands and compare distances between throwers.

For an accuracy contest, aim at a fixed target and score by how close each throw lands to it.

Take turns and total scores across an agreed number of throws per player.
