Whist

Deal all 52 cards evenly among four players and turn the dealer's last card to set the trump suit.

The player to the dealer's left leads the first trick by playing any card.

Each player must follow the led suit if able; otherwise they may play any card, including trump.

The highest trump played wins the trick, or the highest card of the led suit if no trump was played.

Whichever partnership wins more of the thirteen tricks scores points for that hand.
