- A straw figure dressed in old cloth to represent Morana, the personification of winter
- Ribbons or greenery for decoration
- A nearby stream, river, or pond
HOW TO PLAY

Build a simple straw figure and dress it in scraps of old clothing to represent winter.

Decorate the figure with ribbons while singing traditional spring songs, if you know them.

Carry the figure together in a small procession out of the neighborhood toward water.

At the water's edge, everyone helps toss the figure in, sometimes setting it alight first.

Watch the figure float or burn away, symbolically carrying winter off with it.
6
Walk back together gathering fresh greenery or blossoms to bring spring back into the home.
