Partners look at their hands and signal information about their strength through the pattern of cards they lead, without speaking directly about their hand.

The trump suit is determined by the final card dealt, and players must follow suit or play a trump when unable to follow.

Each trick is won by the highest trump played, or the highest card of the suit led if no trump appears.

Partnerships tally the tricks they have won together at the end of the hand, and the partnership reaching the target score across multiple hands wins the match.
