MATERIALS
- One long striking stick
- One short tapered stick
- Chalk or a drawn starting circle
HOW TO PLAY
1
Draw a small circle on the ground to mark the starting point and place the short tapered stick balanced across it.
2
Using the long stick, tap one end of the short stick sharply so it flips up into the air.
3
While it is airborne, swing the long stick to strike the short stick and send it flying as far as possible.
4
Opposing players spread out in the field and try to catch the flying stick before it lands, which puts the striker out if successful.
5
If the stick is not caught, it is thrown back toward the circle, and the striker scores points based on how many stick-lengths away it landed.
6
Players rotate turns striking, and whoever accumulates the most distance points across the agreed number of turns wins.
