Truco

Deal three cards to each player from the shortened deck.

Play proceeds in a series of three card comparisons, with the highest card played by each player each round determining who wins that round.

At any point before a round is fully resolved, a player may call out a bid to raise the stakes for the hand, which opponents can accept, decline, or raise further.

Players are encouraged to bluff about their hand strength through tone and expression when making or responding to a raise.

Winning two of the three rounds in a hand earns the agreed points for that hand, adjusted by any accepted raises.

Play multiple hands, and the first team or player to reach the target score, commonly fifteen or thirty points, wins the game.
