Trompo

Wind the string tightly around the trompo's body, starting near the point and working up.

Hold the string end firmly and throw the trompo downward with a snapping motion to launch and unwind it into a spin.

Practice catching the still-spinning trompo in your palm without stopping its spin.

For competitive play, try to launch your trompo so it strikes and knocks over an opponent's spinning top.

A trompo that stops spinning first, or gets knocked out of its spin, loses that round.

Players take turns launching until a winner emerges from the head-to-head matchups.
