Toli (Choctaw Stickball)
- Two handcrafted wooden sticks (kabocca) per player
- A small leather or hide-wrapped ball
- Two goal posts per side
Traditionally played on an open field roughly 100 to 500 yards long, with a single goal post at each end.
Two teams line up between a pair of distant goal posts, each player holding one stick in each hand instead of using their bare hands.
The ball is tossed into the air at the center of the field to start play, and players scramble to trap or cradle it between the two sticks.
A player carries or passes the ball toward their team's goal post using only the sticks, never touching the ball with their hands.
Opponents may check sticks, block, and wrestle for possession as long as they do not strike a player directly with a stick.
A team scores by hitting their goal post with the ball while it is held in the sticks, and play resets with another center toss.
The match continues to an agreed point total or time limit, with the higher-scoring team declared the winner.
