MATERIALS
- A board with a grid of squares (commonly 11x11)
- One set of pieces including a king for the defending side
- A larger set of attacking pieces for the other side
HOW TO PLAY
1
Set the king piece in the center square, surrounded by a small group of defending pieces, while the attacking pieces line up around the board's edges.
2
Pieces move like a rook in chess, any distance in a straight line, but cannot jump over other pieces.
3
Capture an opposing piece by trapping it between two of your own pieces on opposite sides, or against a board edge in some variants.
4
The defending side wins if the king reaches any edge square of the board.
5
The attacking side wins by surrounding the king on all four sides so it cannot escape.
