MATERIALS
- Four knucklebones or modern astragalus-shaped dice
HOW TO PLAY
1
Each player in turn tosses all four knucklebones together onto a table or flat surface.
2
Each bone can land on one of four sides, and each side is worth a different point value under the group's agreed scoring.
3
The rarest combination, with all four bones landing on different sides, scores the highest and is called the "Venus throw."
4
Other set combinations, like four matching sides, score fixed values agreed before play begins.
5
Play a set number of rounds and add up each player's best throws; the highest total wins.
