MATERIALS
- Chalk or a stick to mark lines in dirt
- A small stone or shard to toss
MEASUREMENTS
A grid of numbered squares in an irregular branching pattern, roughly 6-8ft (2-2.5m) across.
HOW TO PLAY
1
Mark out the numbered squares in the traditional branching pattern on the ground.
2
Toss your marker into the first square without it touching a line.
3
Hop through the pattern on one foot through single squares, and land with both feet in paired squares, always skipping the square holding your marker.
4
At the far end, turn around and hop back the same way, bending to pick up your marker without losing balance.
5
Stepping on a line, missing a square, or losing balance ends your turn.
6
The first player to complete every numbered square in the sequence wins.
