HOW TO PLAY
1
Archers line up at a fixed distance from a low target wall built from stacked rings of braided leather or small wooden blocks.
2
Each archer shoots a set number of arrows per round, aiming to knock the target rings out of their stacked formation rather than simply hitting a bullseye.
3
Judges positioned near the target call out a traditional chant to signal how well each shot landed and to mark hits.
4
Archers are scored on how many rings they dislodge across their turns, with some formats also rewarding especially clean or central hits.
5
Competitors take turns across several rounds, and running totals are kept for each archer or team.
6
The archer or team with the highest total of dislodged rings at the end of the contest is declared the winner.
