MATERIALS
- A sungka board with two rows of small pits and a larger "head" store at each end
- 49 small shells or seeds
MEASUREMENTS
Board roughly 24-30in (60-75cm) long with seven small pits per side plus one head store on each end.
HOW TO PLAY
1
Set up the board with an equal number of shells in every small pit, leaving the two head stores empty.
2
On your turn, scoop all shells from one pit on your own side and sow them one by one into each following pit, moving counterclockwise.
3
Drop a shell into your own head store when you pass it, but skip your opponent's head store.
4
If your last shell lands in your own empty pit, capture all shells in the opposite pit and add them to your head store.
5
If your last shell lands in a pit that already has shells, pick up all shells there and keep sowing.
6
The round ends when one side's pits are empty; whoever has more shells in their head store wins.
