Deal ten cards to each of the four players, seated so that partners sit across from each other.

The dealer's partner reveals a card to set the trump suit for the round.

Players take turns playing one card each to a trick, following the suit led whenever possible.

The highest card of the suit led wins the trick, unless a trump card is played, in which case the highest trump wins.

The winner of each trick leads the next one, and the team collects points for high cards captured in their tricks.

After all ten tricks are played, tally each team's card points; the team with more points wins the round.
