Spinning Top (Trompo)

Wind the string tightly around the grooved body of the top, starting near the point.

Hold the top in your throwing hand with the string wrapped around your fingers.

Throw the top toward the ground with a quick snapping motion while releasing the string, so it lands spinning on its point.

For competitive play, try to make your spinning top strike and knock over an opponent's top, or keep it spinning longer than anyone else's.

A top that fails to spin up or tips over immediately is out for that round.
