MATERIALS
- A long smooth wooden or waxed pole shaped like a slender rod
- A packed snow or ice track
MEASUREMENTS
Straight packed track at least 20-30 meters long
HOW TO PLAY
1
Pack and smooth a long straight track in the snow or ice ahead of play.

Grip your pole near one end and take a short running approach toward the track.

Release the pole low and level so it skims and slides along the packed track rather than bouncing.
4
Mark where each player's pole comes to rest with a small flag or stake.
5
Compare distances after everyone has thrown, with the farthest sliding pole winning that round.
6
Play multiple rounds and total each player's best distances to determine the overall winner.
