Snap the Whip
- Nothing needed
Players line up in a row, each one gripping the hand of the person next to them to form one long connected chain.
The player anchoring one end of the line stands still or moves slowly, acting as the pivot point for the whole chain.
The player at the far opposite end starts running, pulling the whole line into a wide curving sweep across open ground.
As the line curves, players near the running end are whipped around at much greater speed than those near the anchor end.
Players must hold on tightly, since the fastest-moving end of the chain can easily lose its grip and go tumbling if the line curves too sharply.
The game usually ends in laughter when the chain finally breaks apart, and the group can reform the line to try for a longer run next time.
