Sika
- 1 lightweight reed or wooden dart per player, weighted at one end
- A long, flat, open stretch of ground or beach
Played along a long, level runway, historically stretching 100m or more depending on available open ground.
Each competitor takes a running start along the flat runway, building up speed before the throw.
At a marked line, the competitor hurls the dart low and hard so that it strikes the ground and continues skidding and sliding forward along the surface.
The distance is measured from the throwing line to the point where the dart finally comes to rest.
Each competitor is typically given several throws, with the best distance from those attempts counting toward their final result.
Skilled throwers adjust their grip, angle, and running speed to maximize how far the dart skids once it touches down.
Whoever's dart travels the farthest after all throwers have taken their turns is declared the winner.
