MATERIALS
- A handful of sheep or goat ankle bones (or small blocks as a substitute)
- A flat surface
HOW TO PLAY
1
Scatter the ankle bones across the flat surface so they land in random positions and orientations.
2
Each bone naturally rests on one of four sides, and players call out which side they predict before flicking a bone to check.
3
Using a flicking finger motion, a player tries to strike one bone into another of a matching side without disturbing the rest of the pile.
4
A successful strike lets the player keep both bones and take another turn; a miss or disturbing other bones ends the turn.
5
Play continues around the group until all bones are collected, and the player holding the most bones wins.
