MATERIALS
- A set of four sheep or goat anklebones, or modern replicas
- Small flat playing surface
HOW TO PLAY
1
Each anklebone has four distinct sides, traditionally likened to a horse, camel, sheep, and goat depending on how it lands.
2
Toss all four anklebones onto the playing surface at once.
3
Compare the combination of sides that land face up against the agreed scoring chart for that round.
4
In flicking variations, use one bone to strike a chosen bone of the same side into a target bone without disturbing the others.
5
Award points based on the matching combination rolled or the successful flick, according to the version being played.
6
Play an agreed number of rounds and total each player's points; the highest score wins.
