Players stand facing a chosen leader in a loose circle or line.

The leader chants the sailor verse while performing an action, such as saluting or rowing.

Everyone copies the leader's motion and repeats the chant back together.

Each round the leader adds a new motion, building a longer sequence to remember.

Anyone who forgets a motion or breaks the sequence is teased good-naturedly.

Start the chant over from the beginning to practice the whole sequence again.
