HOW TO PLAY

Form a circle holding hands, with one or two players starting in the middle.

Sing or chant the verses of the chosen folk song together as the circle steps or sways in rhythm.

Follow the actions described in the song's lyrics, such as choosing a partner, mimicking a task, or swapping places, as they come up in the verses.

Let the player or players in the middle act out their part of the song while the circle continues singing and stepping.

Rotate new players into the middle at the end of each verse or repeat, so everyone gets a turn.

Continue through as many verses as the group knows, ending with a final circle turn together.
