Most players form a line, each holding the waist or shoulders of the player ahead, forming a long "dragon" led by a head player.

One player stands apart as the "doctor" and calls out a rhyming question-and-answer exchange with the dragon's head.

After the exchange finishes, the doctor tries to tag the very last player in the line.

The head player spreads their arms and blocks the doctor's path while the whole line swings and winds to protect the tail.

If the doctor tags the last player, that player is out (or becomes the next doctor); otherwise the dragon escapes and the game restarts.
