DIFFICULTY
SETTING
Outdoor
MATERIALS
- A rectangular board of holes scratched into the earth
- 6 flat wooden lots (thrown like dice)
- Corn kernels or small stones as playing pieces
MEASUREMENTS
A rectangular grid of small holes marked out on the ground, with a home row for each player's pieces.
HOW TO PLAY
1
Scratch the playing grid into packed earth and place each player's pieces in their own row of holes.
2
On your turn, toss the flat wooden lots onto the ground; the number landing face-up determines how many holes you may move a piece.
3
Move one piece forward that number of holes along the grid.
4
Land exactly on an opponent's piece to capture it and remove it from play.
5
Certain lot combinations grant a bonus move or an extra turn, depending on your group's agreed variation.
6
The player who captures all of the opponent's pieces first wins the game.
