Deal four or five cards to each player and place the rest of the deck face down, turning the top card face up beside it.

On their turn, a player plays a card matching the suit or rank of the top face-up card, or draws a card if they cannot or choose not to play.

Certain cards carry special effects agreed on before play, such as making the next player draw extra cards or changing the active suit.

Play passes around the table, with players trying to empty their hand as quickly as possible.

The first player to play their final card wins the round, while remaining players may total their leftover cards' point value as a penalty score.
