- Chalk, paper scraps, or natural markers for trail signs
- an open outdoor area such as a park or wooded trail
HOW TO PLAY

Divide the group into a smaller runner team and a larger tracker team, giving the runners a head start.

The runner team sets off along a route, leaving a trail of simple agreed-upon marks such as chalk arrows, paper scraps, or arranged sticks to show their path.

After the head start ends, the tracker team follows the trail, reading the marks to work out which direction the runners went.

Runners may leave false trails or hide along the way to slow the trackers down.

The game ends when the trackers catch up to and tag the runner team, or when the runners reach a predetermined finish point unseen.
