Pitty Pat

Each player is dealt a small hand of cards, usually seven, and one card is flipped face up in the middle of the table to start a discard pile.

On a turn, a player who has a card matching the rank of the top discard may lay it down on top of that pile, calling out 'pitty pat' as they play it.

Players may play as many matching cards as they can in a row on their turn, as long as each one matches the new top card of the pile.

If a player cannot match the top card, they simply pass their turn without drawing, and play moves to the next player.

The first player to get rid of every card in their hand wins that round.

Players usually reshuffle and deal a new hand to play again, often keeping score across several quick rounds.
