Peever
- Chalk
- A small flat stone or disc (the peever)
Chalk out a grid of numbered squares on the pavement in the traditional hopscotch layout.
The first player tosses the peever so it lands inside square number one without touching any lines.
That player then hops through the grid on one foot, skipping over the square holding the peever, and turns around at the far end.
On the way back, the player must balance on one foot while bending down to pick up the peever from its square, then hop out without stepping on any line.
A turn ends if the peever lands on a line, misses the correct square, or the player loses balance and touches a line or steps outside the grid.
Play passes to the next player, and turns rotate through increasing square numbers for each player across future turns until someone completes the whole grid.
