Pachisi

Each player places their four tokens at their starting corner of the cross-shaped path.

Take turns throwing the cowrie shells and counting how many land face up to determine your move count.

Move one token that number of spaces along the path in the marked direction toward the center.

Landing exactly on a space occupied by an opponent's token sends that token back to its starting corner.

Certain marked squares act as safe spaces where your token cannot be sent back by an opponent.

Move all four of your tokens completely around the path and into the center to win the game.
