- A small cap, hat, or folded cloth
- An open space for a circle
HOW TO PLAY

Players sit or stand in a circle facing inward while one player, the 'stork,' walks around the outside carrying the cap.

The group sings a traditional verse about the stork losing its cap while the stork circles behind them.

At some point during the song the stork quietly drops the cap behind one player without anyone else noticing.

If that player realizes the cap is behind them before the stork completes a full lap, they snatch it up and chase the stork around the circle to tag them.

If the stork makes it all the way around and sits in the open spot before being tagged, the player who missed the cap becomes the new stork.
