MATERIALS
- A thick rope, traditionally woven from ti leaves or other plant fiber
- A center line marked on the ground
HOW TO PLAY
1
Mark a center line on the ground and lay the rope across it, with an even number of players gripping each side.
2
Both teams grip the rope firmly and take up the slack until it's taut across the line.
3
On the signal, each team pulls steadily backward, trying to drag the other team across the center line.
4
Players should keep their footing low and pull in a steady rhythm rather than sudden jerks.
5
The game ends when one team is pulled entirely across the center line.
6
Reset and switch which side each team pulls from for a second match.
