MATERIALS
- An omweso board with four rows of eight pits
- 64 small seeds or stones
MEASUREMENTS
Board with four rows of eight pits, each player controlling the two rows nearest them.
HOW TO PLAY
1
Start with four seeds in every pit and divide the board into two halves, one per player.
2
On your turn, choose a pit on your side and sow its seeds one at a time into successive pits, usually moving along your near row and back along your far row.
3
If your last seed lands in an opponent's pit that now holds two or three seeds, capture those seeds and remove them from play.
4
After a capture, you may continue sowing from a newly full pit if the rules your group follows allow chained captures.
5
Players alternate turns, always sowing from their own side, until one side has no legal move.
6
The player who has captured the most seeds when the game ends is the winner.
