Octopus Tag

Mark two boundary lines across the play area, with one player chosen as the octopus starting in the middle.

All other players line up on one boundary line, ready to run to the opposite line when the octopus calls the start.

The octopus tries to tag runners as they cross the open middle area.

Any player who is tagged must stay in that spot for the rest of the round and becomes a piece of seaweed.

Seaweed players cannot move their feet but may tag other runners who come within reach as they pass.

Play continues back and forth across the field until only one untagged runner remains, who becomes the next octopus.
