HOW TO PLAY
1
On Easter Monday morning, boys and men visit the homes of female friends and family.
2
At each home, they playfully splash a little water (or a light spray of cologne) on the women and girls, sometimes with a gentle tap from a decorated willow switch.
3
The dousing is said to bring good health and freshness for the year ahead, so it is taken in good humor.
4
In return, the visited household offers painted eggs, sweets, or a small drink to each visitor.
5
Groups move from house to house through the morning, repeating the custom at each stop.
6
By afternoon, everyone gathers to share food and compare their collected eggs and treats.
