MATERIALS
- A nine-square metal frame with elastic netting, or a taped nine-square grid on the ground
- A volleyball or similar ball
HOW TO PLAY
1
Each player stands in one of the nine grid squares, with the center square typically held by the reigning champion.
2
The center player serves the ball upward into another player's square.
3
That player must volley the ball into a different square before it touches the ground twice.
4
A player who lets the ball drop in their square, hits it out of bounds, or double-hits it is eliminated and moves to the back of a waiting line, with everyone else rotating up.
5
The player who reaches and holds the center square the longest is considered the current champion.
