Newroz Bonfire Leap

Gather around a bonfire lit to mark the arrival of the new year at nightfall.

Take turns running toward the fire and jumping cleanly over the flames from a safe distance back.

Land steadily on the far side and step clear quickly to leave room for the next jumper.

Musicians or singers keep spirits high with songs and drumming between jumps.

Once everyone who wishes to jump has had a turn, the group gathers to sing and dance around the dying fire.
