- Fresh stinging nettle stalks, one per competitor
- A ruler or tape measure
- Water or milk for after the contest
MEASUREMENTS
Stalks are typically trimmed to a set length, often around 2ft (60cm), before the contest begins.
HOW TO PLAY

Each competitor is given a nettle stalk of equal length, still covered in stinging leaves.

On the starting signal, competitors strip the leaves from their stalk with their fingers and eat them one at a time.

Competitors keep stripping and eating for a fixed time limit, such as one hour.

At the end of the time limit, each competitor's remaining bare stalk is measured.

The competitor who has stripped and eaten the longest length of stalk is declared the winner.
