Nertz (Pounce)

Each player shuffles their own deck and deals themselves a small face-up stack called a Nertz pile, plus a hand and a few work piles laid out like a solitaire tableau.

All players play at the same time, with no fixed turn order, racing to build shared ascending foundation piles by suit in the center of the table using cards from anyone's tableau.

Within their own tableau, players may also stack cards downward in alternating colors, moving cards around to free up new plays, exactly like a normal solitaire game.

The main goal is to get rid of every card in a player's personal Nertz pile as fast as possible by playing them onto the shared center foundations.

The instant any player empties their Nertz pile, they shout to stop the round immediately, and everyone stops playing at once.

Points are tallied for every card each player added to the center foundations, with a penalty for cards left in an unemptied Nertz pile, and play continues across multiple rounds until someone reaches a target score.
