Mbube Harmony Circle

Players stand in a circle, and a leader introduces a simple repeating vocal melody line.

The group splits into two or three smaller groups, each assigned a different harmony part to layer over the melody.

Groups practice their individual parts a few times before attempting to sing all parts together at once.

The leader conducts by pointing to each group to bring their part in or fade it out, building and easing the layered sound.

The circle continues until the leader signals a final combined verse to close the song together.
