The dealer's opponent names the trump suit for the hand.

Play tricks clockwise, following the led suit when able and playing trump otherwise.

Ranking runs from the ten down through ace, king, queen and jack, with the ten worth the most points.

Partners combine the point values of the cards they capture in tricks, and the higher total wins the hand.
