Deal five cards to each player and place the rest of the deck face down, turning the top card face up to start the discard pile.

On their turn, a player must play a card matching either the suit or the rank of the top discard, or draw a card if unable to play.

Certain cards trigger special effects agreed on before play, such as forcing the next player to draw extra cards, skipping a turn, or reversing turn order.

Play continues around the table, with players racing to empty their hand.

The first player to play their last card, after correctly announcing they have one card left, wins the round.
