Two wrestlers enter a cleared sandy ring while spectators gather around the edge, sometimes with drummers keeping a beat.

Wrestlers grip each other by the waist, arms, or clothing and try to find an opening for a throw.

A match ends the moment one wrestler forces the other's back or both shoulders to touch the ground.

Striking or grabbing below the waist is not allowed; only grappling and throwing techniques count.

The winner remains in the ring to face a new challenger called forward by the crowd.
