MATERIALS
- A short wooden stick tapered at both ends (the 'lippa')
- A longer flat striking stick
- An open field or dirt yard
HOW TO PLAY
1
The striker places the tapered stick on the ground and taps one pointed end with the longer stick to flip it into the air.
2
While the tapered stick is airborne, the striker swings the longer stick to hit it as far as possible into the field.
3
Fielders try to catch the tapered stick before it lands; a clean catch ends the striker's turn immediately with no score.
4
If nobody catches it, the striker's score for that turn is measured by counting how many stick-lengths lie between the landing spot and the starting mark.
5
Players take turns being the striker, and after an agreed number of rounds the player with the highest total distance wins.
