MATERIALS
- Wooden throwing batons
- Small wooden blocks called kyykkas
- Rectangular sand court
MEASUREMENTS
Sand court roughly 12x4 meters with kyykkas arranged in a row at each end
HOW TO PLAY
1
Set up a row of small wooden blocks standing on end at each side of the sand court.
2
Teams take turns throwing wooden batons underhand from the opposite end, aiming to knock the opposing row's blocks out of the court.
3
Blocks knocked fully outside the court boundary are removed from play for the rest of that round.
4
Blocks that shift position but stay inside the court remain in play and must be knocked out on a later throw.
5
Continue alternating throws between teams until one side clears all of the opponent's blocks from the court.
6
The team that clears the opposing row first, or has fewer blocks remaining after an agreed number of rounds, wins.
