One player is chosen as the chaser and stands apart from the rest of the group.

On a shouted signal, the chaser tries to tag any of the scattering players.

Tagged players freeze in place or step out of the round, depending on the version being played.

The chaser keeps going until every player has been tagged or a set time limit ends the round.

The last player tagged becomes the new chaser for the next round.
