Klaverjassen

Deal eight cards to each of the four players, organized into two partnerships seated across from each other.

Before play, a trump suit is chosen, and cards in that suit follow a special ranking order different from the other suits.

Players take turns playing one card each into a trick, following suit when possible or trumping when unable to follow.

The trick is won by the highest card of the suit led, unless a trump card was played, in which case the highest trump wins.

Points are tallied from card values captured in tricks, and the partnership reaching the agreed target score across several hands wins the game.
