Set up the counters facing each other across the grid, leaving the center points open.

Move one counter per turn along a line to an adjacent empty point, either forward or sideways.

Capture an opponent's counter by jumping over it in a straight line into an empty point beyond, removing the captured piece; chain multiple captures in one turn if the pattern allows.

Capturing is mandatory whenever a legal jump is available, so plan your position carefully to avoid a forced loss.

Continue until one player has no counters left or cannot make a legal move; the remaining player wins.
