- Hand drums, or substitutes such as buckets, boxes, or tabletops, for each player
HOW TO PLAY

Gather players in a circle, each with a drum or drum substitute in front of them.

Choose one player to set a steady, syncopated base rhythm for everyone to lock onto.

Going around the circle, each player layers a short new pattern on top of the base rhythm without breaking the beat.

Once everyone has added a layer, let the full combined rhythm play for a stretch so everyone can hear it come together.

Add simple movement, having players sway or step in place to the beat as it plays.

Bring the rhythm to a close together on a cued final hit, then start a fresh base rhythm with a new leader.
