HOW TO PLAY
1
Two players, or a caregiver and a child, sit facing each other and clasp both hands together.
2
Rock back and forth in a sawing motion, gently pulling each other forward and back in turn.
3
Chant the traditional rhyme in rhythm with the pulling motion, keeping a steady back-and-forth beat.
4
Speed up the rocking and chanting gradually as the rhyme builds toward its final line.
5
Finish with a playful flourish, such as a gentle tickle or a big final pull, then start again if the child wants more.
