Each player antes a chip into a central pool before the cards are dealt.

Deal five cards to each player, then turn the next card to set the trump suit for the hand.

Players may discard any number of cards and draw replacements from the stock to improve their hand.

Players then compare the trump cards in their hands one at a time, from highest to lowest rank, revealing them in turn.

The player holding the single highest trump card in play wins the entire pool, and any player left holding no trump at all must add an extra chip to the next round's pool.
